A random number wheel you can see

A random number generator usually shows a result with no ceremony. A number picker wheel does the same job but lets everyone watch the choice happen, which matters in a classroom, a game night or a small raffle. The wheel opens with the numbers 1 to 10, one slice each.

Choose a number range

  • 1–10: loaded by default. Good for dice-style games, quiz question numbers or choosing a group.
  • 1–100: pick “Numbers 1–100” from the preset menu. The wheel shows thin slices, and the full number appears in the result.
  • Custom ranges: type a start and end number in the Number range box and click Fill wheel, for example 25 to 40.
  • Specific numbers: raffle ticket numbers, seat numbers or page numbers work just as well.

For a list that is not a simple range, such as only even numbers, click “Edit as text” and type one number per line, or paste a column from a spreadsheet.

How to spin the number wheel

  1. Fill the wheel with a range, pick a preset, or enter your own numbers.
  2. Decide whether numbers can repeat. For a draw without repeats, turn on “Remove winner after each spin” in Settings.
  3. Press Spin and read the number under the wheel or in the pop-up.
  4. Use the History tab as a record of every number drawn, in order.

Random selection is not the same as taking turns

With repeats allowed, every spin is independent: each number has the same chance every time, and the same number can come up twice in a row. Over a handful of spins some numbers will appear more than once and others not at all. That is what randomness looks like, not a fault.

If every number must come up exactly once, as in bingo or when assigning numbered seats, use remove-winner mode. Each number then leaves the wheel after it is drawn, so after ten spins of a 1–10 wheel you will have drawn all ten in a random order.

Ideas for a number spinner

  • Calling numbers for a home or classroom bingo game.
  • Choosing which question on a worksheet to answer next.
  • Picking a winning ticket number in a small, informal raffle.
  • Rolling for board games when the dice have gone missing.
  • Deciding how many minutes, reps or pages, within a range you set.

For letters instead of numbers, switch to the letter picker wheel. For a quick two-way answer, the yes or no wheel is faster.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pick a number between 1 and 100?
Yes. Choose “Numbers 1–100” from the preset menu. Every number has an equal 1% chance on each spin.
How do I stop numbers repeating?
Turn on “Remove winner after each spin” in Settings. Each drawn number is removed from the wheel when you close the result.
Can I use negative numbers or decimals?
Yes. Entries are plain text, so you can enter -5, 2.5 or anything else. Sorting puts numbers in natural order.
Is the number wheel fair?
Each spin chooses an entry uniformly at random with your browser’s cryptographic random number generator before the animation starts, so every slice has the same chance.
