How to play truth or dare with a spinner

  1. Sit in a circle and decide who goes first. The “Who goes first?” preset can settle it.
  2. The first player presses Spin. The wheel lands on a truth question, a dare, or a skip.
  3. Answer the truth honestly or do the dare. If the wheel lands on a skip, play passes to the next person.
  4. Pass the phone, or the mouse, to the next player and spin again.

Because the wheel picks the prompt, nobody has to invent a question on the spot, and nobody can aim an awkward one at a particular friend. That keeps the game moving and the mood light.

Friendly prompts that are easy to edit

The truth or dare wheel starts with ten prompts written for mixed groups: questions like your most useless talent or your favorite childhood cartoon, and dares like talking like a robot or balancing a book on your head. None of them involve anything risky, embarrassing or physical contact.

  • Click the pencil next to any prompt to rewrite it.
  • Remove prompts that do not suit your group with the cross.
  • Add your own prompts in the entry box. Start them with “Truth:” or “Dare:” so the result is clear.
  • Use “Edit as text” to paste a whole set of prompts at once.

Simple truth or dare mode

Prefer to make up questions yourselves? Choose Truth or dare from the preset menu. The wheel then has Truth, Dare and Player’s choice slices, and the group decides the actual question once the wheel has spoken. This version works well with older groups who already have their own favorites.

Keep the game fun for everyone

  • Agree before you start that anyone can pass on a prompt, no questions asked. The skip slice is there for that reason.
  • Avoid dares that involve danger, food challenges, going outside alone or anything that could hurt someone.
  • Keep prompts age-appropriate when children are playing.
  • Turn on remove-winner mode so the same prompt does not come up twice in one game.

More party wheels

Mix the game up with other wheels. Use the name spinner to pick the next player instead of going round the circle, spin the movie picker wheel when the group wants to wind down, or try the random activity preset on the spin the wheel game page for more ideas.

Frequently asked questions

Are the truth or dare prompts suitable for kids?
The default prompts are written to be friendly for mixed ages. Still, read through them and edit anything that does not suit your group before you play.
Can I write my own truths and dares?
Yes. Type a prompt in the entry box and press Enter, or paste a list where each line is one prompt.
Why are the prompts cut short on the wheel?
Long prompts are shortened on the wheel so they fit. The full text appears in the result pop-up and in your history.
How do I make truths come up more often than dares?
Add more truth prompts than dares. Every slice has the same chance, so the mix of slices sets the odds.
