Make Your Own Spin the Wheel Custom

A spin the wheel custom tool starts from your list, not ours. The wheel above opens with six food options so you can try it straight away, but they are only demo choices. Replace them with names, prizes, activities, tasks, destinations, meal ideas or any other short text, and every line becomes its own slice.

Click the title above the wheel to name it, for example "Friday lunch" or "Team 3 presenters". Then spin. Instead of someone choosing by hand, the wheel makes the decision on screen where everyone can watch it happen, which makes it a simple custom random picker for groups.

How to Create and Spin a Custom Wheel

  1. Enter your choices in the Entries tab. Type one and press Enter, or paste a list where each line is one option.
  2. Add, remove or edit options with the pencil and cross icons, or click Edit as text to change the whole list at once.
  3. Customize the available settings: name the wheel, pick a color theme, set the spin animation, and turn sound, confetti or remove-winner on or off.
  4. Spin the wheel with the Spin button, the center of the wheel, or Space or Enter on your keyboard.
  5. Read the selected result, then spin again whenever you need another pick.

What Can You Use a Custom Spin Wheel For?

Names and Classroom Activities

Teachers, trainers and group leaders can put participant names, review questions, discussion topics or activity ideas on the wheel. For picking people, the wheel of names is set up with a class-list example, and this guide for classrooms and giveaways has more ideas.

Giveaways and Prize Draws

A custom wheel spinner gives informal giveaways a selection everyone can see. Check the list of entries before the draw and agree on the rules first, including what happens if a winner can't be reached. This is a fun, transparent tool, not a certified system for regulated lotteries or legally controlled prize draws. The prize wheel is a ready-made starting point for rewards.

Games, Parties, and Challenges

Write your own truth-or-dare prompts, family game forfeits or friendly challenges, or simply spin to decide who goes first. If you'd rather not write prompts yourself, try the truth or dare wheel.

Food, Travel, and Everyday Decisions

Choosing dinner, a movie, a weekend activity or a place to visit is quicker with a spin. Keep the demo food list, or switch to the movie picker wheel for film night. For a straight answer to one question, the yes or no wheel is faster.

Tasks and Team Decisions

Teams can spin for the next task, a meeting topic, who takes notes or which activity to run in a workshop. It is a quick way to decide when everyone is happy for chance to make the call.

Customize Your Wheel to Match Your Choices

A good custom wheel starts with a clear list. Beyond the entries themselves, this spin wheel maker lets you:

  • Name the wheel with the title above it. The title is saved with this wheel in your browser.
  • Choose a color theme in Settings: Vibrant, Pastel, Ocean, Sunset, Forest or Monochrome. Slice colors follow the theme; you can't set one slice's color by hand. For a wheel where each slice shows a real color, use the color wheel game.
  • Shuffle or sort the list to change the order of slices. Order doesn't change anyone's chances.
  • Start from a preset in the Entries tab, or restore the example options after you've changed them.
  • Set the spin style, from a quick spin to a slow, suspenseful finish with a countdown.
  • Copy a share link so someone else can open the same list. The list travels inside the link itself.

Short labels read best on the slices. Long entries are shortened on the wheel itself, but the full text always appears in the result.

Tips for Making a Better Custom Wheel

  • Keep labels short and readable, ideally a few words.
  • Check the entries before spinning, especially before a group draw.
  • Remove duplicates unless they should count as separate options. An entry that appears twice gets two slices and twice the chance.
  • Agree on the rules before using the wheel for a group activity.
  • Decide whether a selected winner stays eligible. Turn on Remove winner after each spin if everyone should be picked only once.
  • Make sure everyone knows how the odds work: each slice has an equal chance, and there are no hidden weights.

Spin the Wheel Custom – Frequently Asked Questions

What does "spin the wheel custom" mean?
It means making a spinning wheel from your own list of names, choices, tasks or prizes, instead of using a fixed set of options.
How do I make my own custom spin wheel?
Replace the demo entries in the Entries tab with your own, give the wheel a title, choose a theme in Settings if you like, and press Spin.
Can I add my own names and options to the wheel?
Yes. Type them one at a time or paste a list with one option per line. A wheel can hold up to 500 entries. Blank lines are skipped and extra spaces are trimmed.
Can I customize the colors of my spin wheel?
You can choose one of six color themes in Settings. Individual slice colors can't be set by hand.
Can I use a custom wheel for classroom games and giveaways?
Yes, for informal use. Check the entries and agree on the rules with everyone before the draw. It is not a certified system for regulated lotteries.
Can I spin the wheel more than once?
Yes, as often as you like. Turn on Remove winner after each spin in Settings if each option should only be picked once. Past results are listed in the History tab, which you can clear.
Is the custom spin wheel free to use?
Yes. It is free, with no account or sign-up.
Does the custom wheel work on mobile devices?
Yes. On phones and tablets the wheel sits on top and the entry editor and settings stack underneath it.
Does the wheel save my custom choices?
Yes, in your browser's local storage on this device. Your entries, title, settings and history are still there when you come back, unless you clear your browser data. Nothing is saved to an online account. To move a list to another device, copy the share link.
Does every option have an equal chance of winning?
Yes. Every slice is the same size, and the result is chosen with your browser's cryptographic random number generator before the wheel starts turning. The only way to give an option more chances is to add it more than once.
